Yet another step in the journey. I have been conversing with Fr. H from the monastery in Idaho the past couple of months. Obviously, the biggest issue with becoming an Oblate is transportation. While I can indeed drive, my driving abilities in the snow are non-existent and it would be rather hard for me [...] I’ve not wanted to comment on the situation with Pope Benedict, mainly because there is much more worthwhile coverage out there in the St. Blog’s parish. But I do support the Pope, and not because of sheep-like brainwashing that makes people squirm; but rather because he has a spine, and said what needed to [...] Spotted this from MyCatholic.com… Clearly, what God wants above all is our will which we received as a free gift from God in creation and possess as though our own. When a man trains himself to acts of virtue, it is with the help of grace from God from whom all good things [...] I heard back from Mystery Community X, with some good news. In that, I basically have all the information that I need but I will still receive a brochure from them, that a particular thing I’ve been doing is very good already; and that they are holding a retreat in a couple months for [...] Today was my parish’s retreat for the Religious Education teachers. It was a fantastic retreat, led by trusty Fr. L. We addressed all sorts of issues and discussed things such as the difference between teaching faith and teaching things like history. We discussed the three aspects of Christian life – poverty, chastity, and obedience [...] I promise I will tell you who it is. I can’t remember if I said when I would tell you, but here’s a nice reminder regardless – I’ll tell when I petition to be a Novice. Ideally I wanted to wait until I had petitioned and (God-willing) had been accepted as a Novice. But [...] I am entirely not dead. My appointment with Fr. L went very well. I have a synopsis written, but will post it up tomorrow. One of the things that I talked to him about were the Third Orders and we discussed whether or not there is a calling. L about some things that have been getting ahold of me and my spiritual life recently.
