Carrying the Cross

Friends,

I could use any extra prayers that could be spared. Tonight was an attack of the legs that hurt so bad I could not walk. I basically stayed on my bed for almost 2 hours. I have even heavier pain killers and they hardly put a dent in the pain at the time. I can walk now, but still hurt pretty badly.

Here’s another picture from the Monastery:

I didn’t think of it when I took the picture at the time, but I believe station 2 of the Stations of the Cross is that Jesus carries His cross.

It seems oddly appropriate now.

Pax!!

It seems that after reading your posts over the past few weeks, you have been bearing your cross. Remember the words of Jesus Christ:

“And he that taketh not up his cross, and followeth me, is not worthy of me” (Matthew 10:38)

You are truly following the Lord’s words. Keep pressing onwards and believing in Him. And, are you discerning a vocation to a religious order? I remember reading a post about something like that before, but I can’t find it on your blog right now.

Thanks. I’m doing the Third Order discernment. I am almost certain that Our Lord is not calling me to a religious order, but to Marriage instead. I had thought about it at one time, but after prayer and more prayer, He seems to be calling me to Marriage.

What third orders are you looking into? Have you considered the Benedictines? I’m a little familiar with them.

    Yup. I’m a Benedictine Oblate candidate. 8-)
