Changes

It’s going to be a busy week. Lots of things due – projects, papers, exams. Books to read, notes to write. In the midst of it all, my medication for my RLS has been changed. Side effects make me feel like I’m drunk, but those should pass away. My neurologist says that if the new medication dosage isn’t working in two days; to call her back.
Despite my physical exhaustion and mental overload, God is right here with me, in the middle of it all. And I have the Saints and the Blessed Virgin for intercessory assistance. I find myself praying the beginning to the Divine Office — “Oh Lord, come to my assistance, Oh Lord, make haste to help me…” in order to keep my bearings. Unintentional at the time, but looking at that picture is rather symbolic: Christ, the Light of the World is in the center; I strive to keep Him in the center of my life. His Mother, my Mother, looks on. Silently watching, I know she’s praying for me and that I can count on her for her intercession. The lamp – light overcoming darkness. Can I keep the light of Christ burning (or in this case, turned on?).
The lasso of the devil – the rosary. Benedictine, oh but of course.
The chaplet of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Oh Sacred Heart, be my love!!
That is the top of my nightstand. A subtle, silent reminder to me, as a Christian. That I have the Light of Christ, that I am not alone, that I have friends who love me and pray for me. And most importantly, to keep Christ in the center of everything.
Night holds no terrors for those sleeping under God’s wings.

God bless you in your week
“Oh Lord, come to my assistance, Oh Lord, make haste to help me…”
Wow, I can relate a bit – at least as far as repeating that prayer constantly. You know a bit about my life, so you know I am with you in needing God’s grace…
then again, every one does in their own way right
it’s Lent already – Yay!
take care
