This weekend has been most amazing.
Yesterday I met some of G’s relatives, including his Aunt who is a Sister with the Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Los Angeles. I’d never met a Sister before, and it was wonderful talking to her and spending time with her, as well as everyone else. Sister Aunt was fully habited, and had probably the largest rosary I’d ever seen.
Today after Mass, G and I noticed that there were two Sisters who had attended. After some Googling, we determined that they are Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist! Their veils were different from Sister Aunt’s, in that theirs sat on the back of their heads and were see-through, and Sister Aunt’s covered all her hair and was not.
G and I will see Sister Aunt this weekend, as well as even more of G’s relatives at a family reunion! It should be grand. After this, the next time we’ll see Sister Aunt is in three more years. It was nice to see religious in habits, out and about and being a witness to Christ and His Gospel.
