Oblate Update

Over the last couple of weeks I’ve been talking with Fr. H about when/if I could become a full Benedictine Oblate. I entered into the Novitiate on the 8th of October in 2006. The Monastery I’m attached to has a one year formation requirement, so obviously it’s been well over a year for me. [...]

URGENT: Chaldean Catholic Archbishop Kidnapped

Hail Mary in Various Languages

I came across this in my internetting last night, and found it pretty cool: The Hail Mary in Various Languages. If there’s a language you’re curious about, chances are it’s in here. Several Native American languages that are in the area are posted, which I find incredibly cool.

Potpurri

Oy. So much going on over here – I want to put everything in one big post but that would be too easy. To prevent a massive post, I’m thinking I should break it up into individual posts. Midterms are next week, as Spring Break is the following week (week before Good Friday). I [...]

if you have considered a vocation to the religious life?

Our Bishop was discussing yesterday that there are men and women out there who God is calling to serve Him in the religious life. However, these men and women often don’t respond to His call, simply because no one really asked them in the [...]

A Successful Theology on Tap

Theology on Tap went awesome tonight. There was a good showing, and the Bishop made sure to greet everyone individually before hand. He mainly fielded questions from us, but also talked about how he became a Bishop (his first reaction was “What? Where? Why?”), the Diocese’s mission in Guatemala (we’ve been there since like, [...]

I miss our Elisabeth

Today marks the third month of losing Elisabeth. Her miscarriage happened on November 21st.

*sigh*

Dearest Jesus, who wept at the death of your friend and taught that they who mourn shall be comforted, grant us the comfort of your presence in our loss. Send Your Holy Spirit to direct us lest we make [...]

A “new” car!!

Greg and I came back from the Capital today – we went up yesterday to look at some vehicles to replace my truck, since all the local places here didn’t have anything in stock below $10,000. However, we did come across some vehicles in the Capital that had the three biggest requirements for a [...]
