New blogs to my blog-list

Some new blogs that I’ve been reading as of late:

- Faith and Family Live!. To be honest, I’ve never heard of the magazine, Faith and Family. However, after spending some time at the blog associated with the magazine, I’m really impressed. I can only imagine that the magazine is just as high caliber [...]

Catholic Carnival #183

The Organ-ic Chemist is the host for the latest Catholic Carnival. It’s a darn good carnival, so go check it out!

Help! What can I make out of fleece?

While Greg and I were up taking care of my mom, she very happily dumped her fleece scraps on me. Apparently the crafty gene is apart of the family, because my mom has been churning out no-sew fleece blankets for a while. I’m actually really proud of her – she started off making them [...]

36 week check-up

Thanks everyone for your prayers. Today’s appointment went peachy keen. I spent about 10 minutes whining to my doctor about how I’ve been feeling – unfortunately, the fatigue, nausea, mood swings, pressure, aches, pains, insomnia, and so forth is normal. ::sigh:: Our little rib-tickler is still content and growing like a weed.

Dr. [...]

Dog Days of Summer

When exactly are the Dog Days of summer supposed to hit? In August?

Regardless, it has been incredibly hot the last couple of days and I have been increasingly feeling crummy. Very tired, run down, upset tummy at times, hot hot hot, moody, irritable, and so forth. I am not a good person [...]

Elise’s Home

She’s been inching her way down pretty steadily. The good news is that I don’t have any massive pressure or aches and pains in my pelvis (yet).

A lot of people feel compelled to comment on the size of my belly – that it’s kind of on the small side. Most people [...]

NFP Awareness Week

If you’re interested in Natural Family Planning, you will be happy to know that this week is NFP Awareness Week. The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has a spot devoted to NFP and the week.

Basically, in a nutshell; NFP is fertility monitoring – either basal body temperature, mucus, and/or cervical position. If you [...]

Catholic Liturgical Calendar

I found an awesome resource – the Catholic Calendar. It has, for each day; the Saint, the Mass readings, the Liturgical Color for the day (for example, today is White), and the appropriate mysteries of the Rosary. It appears to be pretty much updated, however the links to the Saint of the day does [...]

Past the point of no return

Technically, I guess conception would be “the point of no return” but that’s a different story.

Today was Elise’s 35 week checkup, and everything is fine for the both of us. I gained 3.5 pounds since I saw the doctor last (I blame my mom’s awesome lasagna, which she made before she had [...]

Home

Well, we’re back!

My mom had foot surgery done on Friday, so Greg and I came up to take care of her while she recovers. Although we mainly had to remind her to not get up and to make sure her foot is iced. She was not thrilled with having to be off [...]
