Keeping busy while waiting for Elise

Another scorching day, but another day closer to Elise arriving. Greg and I went to the local Knights of Columbus picnic on Saturday and visited with some of his friends from his Boy Scouting days. It was brought up that the end is in sight, as the due date is coming up (one week) and I highly doubt that my doctor will let me go beyond 42 weeks (up to most likely, beyond; probably not). So there’s a definite “end” – 42 weeks – even if I may not think there’s an end. :P

In lieu of Elise updates, I do want to repost the link to the place where you can record guesses on when she will be here and how big she will be. If you want to change your guess, I believe you will have to enter in a new one all together.

I have been spending a good part of the weekend at various things like the Knights of Columbus picnic and the Parish Picnic (yesterday), getting to know people and not being cooped up in the house. I’ve also been plowing through my book stash from the local library, and have found some books that have been a major blessing to me – Mother Angelica’s Little Book of Life Lessons and Everyday Spirituality, edited by Raymond Arroyo. The book is a collection of Mother Angelica’s sayings and whatnot, so things are easy to remember (such as “Patience is adjusting your time to God’s time”) and provide a plethora of thoughts for me. Especially in this waiting period. ;-) Eventually I want to purchase it, but that will have to wait. Maybe Christmastime.

I am going to be working on writing out my conversion story – probably a series of posts. I hope to start posting them before the week ends, unless Plans Change (and since God has been notorious in my life for changing plans, I’m hoping He’s planning on having them change!). :D

Yup, he’s a Third Degree. He has a tux so technically, he could go for his Fourth Degree. I hope he does, but we’ll see. :) His Dad and brother are also all Third Degree Knights.

Their building IS really cute! The Knights in Bozo didn’t have one, which made it hard for Greg to stay on top of meetings (it rotated). :D

  • I miss doing KofC stuff. My dad was a knight for 35+ years. Is Greg a knight? I love the Helena building..it is so cute. LOL
