FOR TODAY Monday, November 17th, 2008…
Outside my window…
It’s overcast and grey. I’ll be surprised if it gets up to 63*F, as forecasted. Oh, well.
I am thinking…
about Greg. He’s at the Urgent Care clinic because of what we lovingly call his “flesh-eating bacteria” on three of his fingers on his right hand. It looks like a really bad burn, but he didn’t burn himself at all. We think it may be eczema. It’s also been going for almost three months straight.
I am thankful for…
health insurance. Although we don’t have our cards yet, but we do have the letter saying we have health insurance.
From the kitchen…
I’m making split pea and ham soup in the crock-pot, but using bacon instead of a ham hock. Hopefully it will still turn out good.
I am wearing…
Denim skirt, blue shirt, bandana
I am creating…
a home where we can relax and unwind, and hopefully as spider and dirt free as a basement apartment on a dirt road can be!
I am going…
insane with worry? Okay, maybe not insane; but I’m concerned about his fingers and hope that a doctor can get him something that will help. We may need to start pinpointing if he’s allergic to anything. :\
I am reading…
Mother Angelica’s Private and Pithy Lessons from the Scripture, edited by Raymond Arroyo. It’s totally awesome, as usual. Greg happened to be at the library just as they were putting it back out on the shelf. So, he checked it out for me.
I am hoping…
Greg just has a severe case of eczema and not anything else (he did have to shake hands a LOT at his previous job and there were some pretty sick people that didn’t tell him they were sick until AFTER they shook his hand, ugh).
I am hearing…
The dryer drying. It’s been a busy laundry morning, washing sheets, stuffed animals, Elise’s playmats, blankets, and anything else our little happy spitter has spit up on.
Around the house…
It’s actually dusted. I thank the Flylady for this.
One of my favorite things…
The Crock-pot. Is that sad? I seriously love the thing. Anything I put into it comes out soooo good. Not to mention neither Greg nor I have to do extensive cooking for dinner, just make a side and some salad and ta-da! Dinner!
A few plans for the rest of the week:
If the weather does what it’s forecasted do, then take Elise on some walks around the neighborhood/town. Thanks to The Babywearer, I finally found a carrier for Elise that we both like – a wrap. I found crinkle cotton for $1.50/yard and bought 5 yards of it. It works amazingly well. And it doesn’t dig into my shoulders or anything, and Elise can see the world from a different point of view. We went on a walk around the neighborhood last night and I think she really liked being OUTSIDE for an extended amount of time for a change.
Here is picture thought I am sharing..

Cute and sweet!

I hope Greg is okay too. I’ll pray for him. let us know how his fingers are
