Servant of God Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen

Annnnnnnnnnd, I’m back

to the blogosphere, that is.

Obviously my domain name expired and being over in New York, I really didn’t notice it until yesterday. Fortunately, I was able to get in touch with my cousin (aka, the one who takes care of my domain and hosting), and he has obviously renewed it. YAY! So, my apologies for the weird placeholder in the interim.

We’re actually having a lot of fun out here and are enjoying the Academy nicely. We visited Archbishop Sheen’s tomb on Thursday (everyone who asked for prayers has been prayed for there) and spent most of the day in Manhattan. Greg, Elise, and I walked from Grand Central Station to St. Patrick’s, then to Madison Square Garden en route to the World Trade Center site before we decided to call my friend in Brooklyn, who then took us on the subway to the site and back up to Times Square.

In addition to riding a train and the subway for the first time ever (yeah, I know), we saw Yankee Stadium, Times Square, St. Patrick’s Cathedral (obviously the crypt, as well), Madison Square Garden, the WTC Site, the Statue of Liberty (just from Manhattan, though), the Naked Cowgirl (wha?), Grand Central Station (dur), and the Empire State Building. Not too bad, considering we walked most of it. I love the Ergo!

I’m slowly getting pictures up on Facebook, but here is the picture from Archbishop Sheen’s tomb. Thank you, St. Patrick’s! :-) I’m still processing the visit to St. Patrick’s – attending Ascension Day Mass, visiting the crypt, seeing all the side chapels, etc – but I hope to write up something soon.

Servant of God Archbishop Sheen, pray for us!

:-) I’ve been putting Elise in the back for a while, actually. I think from when we got it! She prefers to ride in the front (makes it easier for nursing, too!). I usually wear it on my back like that when she’s out, just so it’s not dragging on the ground or in my way.

It was cool to see an ERGO, we have one too!! Although up to now I have only used it front ways…I think for some reason I had it in my head that Bethany needed to be heaps older before she could go on my back but she isn’t that much younger than Elise so maybe we will give it a try. :)

The Ergo was totally rad! I carried Elise in NYC from the time we got off to the time we got back on the trains and I had no back/neck/shoulder aches at all. Elise got overwhelmed at one point, and I just snapped the hood up and she was fine. I think she would have freaked out totally if she was in a stroller. :)

Thanks! I’m glad I caught it when I did! :D

It’s great to have you ‘back’, Kim. I was a bit weirded out by the sudden collapse of the site! And thanks ;)
