Hi!

I don't know you, but I used to frequent CAF a while back and found your blog that way! I check it every once in a while because I love to keep up with other young Catholic mamas!

My husband, daughter and I attend the Traditional Mass! I guess I've never thought twice about how we receive the Blessed Sacrament. My husband will usually take our 14-month old during Communion (because I think he likes to show off - it's a first-time daddy thing maybe!). When we kneel to receive, he just shifts her over to his side and holds down her hands with one of his hands. I do the same thing when I hold her, except I have to use both of my hands! I think the priest and the altar server are very aware of babies and are probably watching carefully! We've only had one "mishap" where Molly (my daughter) grabbed ahold of our priest's stole as he was moving on to give Holy Communion to the person next to me. She was so little and the priest just paused and kind of smiled at her!

Anyway, that was long! If I'm outside the chapel with Molly during Mass, my husband always makes sure to come outside and go to Holy Communion with me so he can take Molly and just so that we can receive Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament as a family. Perhaps your husband (if he doesn't already) can try that? It's been very helpful now that you mention it!

This was random, but I hope it helps! God bless!
