Back here I talked about the City digging up our road to replace a water main. They’ve since replaced the main, and made our road, well, a road again. Except that last night they decided to basically box us in – at one end of the road is a giant hole, and at the other is a giant pile of dirt that a single car can barely squeeze by. And to get through the rest of the surrounding road construction, we have to drive about 5 city blocks away from the city center. No word why there’s another hole in the road or how long it will be there. ::eyeroll::

Our parish mission went superb. The very special guest was no other than Fr. Benedict Groeschel. We had an enjoyable two nights with him, and tonight he will be at a prayer gathering and potluck. He is such a holy man of God, we truly are blessed to be able to have him come out here. I wholeheartedly recommend reading his books or watching him on EWTN. Please keep him in your prayers, as well.

We received City Commissioner ballots in the mail. Not recognizing a single name or getting a guide or anything, I decided to Google each and every name. VERY enlightening. Anyone running for office should seriously Google themselves and see what pops up.
Our local newspaper has a great catalogue of articles on each candidate, and I found a lot of good information to help me make a decent decision on who to vote for. I’m kind of impressed, since our local paper sometimes drops the ball on stories. Or has such an obvious bias it’s not even funny.

Greg and I have decided it’s time for him to start holding Elise when we receive Our Lord in the Eucharist. Poor Monsignor gives me Jesus, blesses Elise, and then blesses Little One. He’s very quick, but I always end up giggling afterwards because he’s blessing three people at once.

Elise is walking all up and down the house. I put videos up on Facebook and am trying to put them up here, but I can’t find a host that doesn’t crash my browser and that isn’t YouTube. I refuse to use YouTube after they allowed videos of Our Lord in the Eucharist being desecrated. Anyone have any suggestions?

I need to start thinking about Christmas presents. Our budget is obviously tight, and I usually just get gifts for my nephew (which now includes my niece, since she’s breathing air). But, I think I want to make something for my parents, and Greg’s parents as well. Not sure what, though.

Greg and I are toying with a 2 week menu for our little household. We want to cut down on shopping trips, especially since everyone is getting sick with colds and flus. I’ve found some great recipes online for dinners that we’ve been test-driving this week, and I think we could do a 2 week rotation. We would probably spend our weekly food budget then, but it may be worth it; particularly once the snow flies.

Go check out more quick takes over at Jen’s.

They have a monthly limit, though. I don’t know how many movies I’ll post, but I don’t want to be too overly restricted.
Flickr can host videos. =)
I know, it’s a real tragedy. It’s interesting that they remove offensive videos targeting other groups, but heaven forbid they do anything for Catholics. Ugh.
I used to use Photobucket, but for some reason, when I play back the videos in my browser, it crashes (Firefox).
I have a video of her walking waiting in the processing line at Vimeo. Great minds think alike!
I didn’t know that about YouTube! How horrible!!!
Give vimeo a try?
Here are 2 articles from last year on it:
Ask YouTube to Pull Host Desecration Videos
(http://www.tfp.org/current-campaigns/anti-blasphemy/ask-youtube-to-pull-host-desecration-videos.html)
and
Host Desecration Videos Back on YouTube
(http://www.tfp.org/current-campaigns/traditional-marriage-crusade/host-desecration-videos-back-on-youtube.html)
I had a YouTube account and deleted it because of their lack of doing anything about it … I informed them why I was deleting it but they didn’t seem to care. Blech.
The Eucharist being desecrated?? :O:O:O
