For us folks in America, tomorrow is Thanksgiving. While not all my readers are located in America, I think it’s important to take a day and reflect on what we are thankful for. The Eucharist is our Thanksgiving (since ‘eucharistia’ does mean ‘thanksgiving’), and I think sometimes it’s easy to start forgetting the miracle that happens at every single Mass.
In addition to the Faith, there are plenty of other things I’m thankful for. My family, especially our three kids. Even if my back is seriously killing me and Elise has discovered the art of trash-can diving; they help me grow in holiness. And of course, the prayers of our Honeymoon Saint also help me. Greg’s job and his job prospects. Our house and our little apartment. Awesome friends. Our health, and the health of our kids. This blog, even if it’s hard to press through writer’s block and come up with something. And so on, and so on, and so on.
With Advent on our doorsteps, I hope and pray I can thank God more often for the blessings He has given me and Greg, and not take them for granted.
Happy Thanksgiving to my American readers, and happy November 26th to my out of country readers.
