I’m trying not to be too confident, but I think Little One may have turned head down. I noticed yesterday the top of my belly went from hard to soft and squishy. I can also breathe easier (yay!) and have about 1000000% more back pain (nay!). There’s little hard lumps at the top that I can’t figure out if they’re arms or legs. Regardless of what happened, I’m really enjoying this “I can breathe!” bonanza. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I’m waiting for Little One to have a kicking party, since yesterday there’s been kicks but much more subdued. My problem is I’m feeling kicks in my pelvis and up top now, whereas before I was only feeling kicks in my pelvis and pain up top when arms were moved. Greg, aka Captain Obvious pointed out that if LO flipped, that hand up by the face may not get put down and therefore I can probably expect to get kicked AND punched. Joy! I’m planning on having some hot chocolate to get LO moving (well, that and it’s a balmy 9*F/-12*C right now).

Greg and I have been getting Little One’s cloth diaper stash going. We’re going to be going the prefold/cover route since it works well for us (and for Elise). LO can use the small prefolds Elise has outgrown, which is awesome. Our problem is that we apparently are the hardest people EVER on covers and therefore need to replace Elise’s covers when we get some covers for LO. We bought Thirsties covers for her, and at least 3 of them have fallen apart (aplix fallen apart, random leaking that I can’t explain or fix). Our goal (so far) is to get a bunch of one-size covers that can be shared between the two kids, and some newborn covers. Oh, and we need snapping ones since Elise has figured out how to work the aplix factor.
In addition to prefolds, I want to try fitted newborn sized diapers so I’ve been buying a few here and there on Black Friday and on clearance. We have two Kissaluv size 0′s and a BumGenius deluxe bamboo fitted coming. I’m sure the mailbox will melt from the fluffy cuteness that is headed its way.

Yesterday the official word came in from my OB – Little One has no brain cysts! Yay! We were expecting as such, but it’s nice to get that official “bill of clean brains”.

I’m already psyching myself up mentally for having LO’s hand up by the face upon delivery. Ouch. I may luck out and somehow the hand will be put down, but I’d rather get ready for something like that and have it not happen than vice versa.

My mom, bless her heart; has been really trying to take not knowing the gender of Little One in stride. Her biggest issue is not knowing what kind of clothes to buy. I tried pointing out to her that it’s better to wait until after the birth anyways, because then you’ll know the size.
I emailed my Dad a belly shot from a couple weeks ago and my mom was again asking “are you sure you’re not having twins? You look HUGE! What about your due date? Are you POSITIVE you’re due in March? And not February? Or even January?”
You’d never guess that I was her third child.

Did I mention how awesome it is to be able to take deep breaths again? Greg actually can sympathize with me on this one – he had a collapsed lung during his aneurysm/car crash bonanza. He couldn’t take deep breaths for a while without pain, and when he COULD, he spent the first couple of days taking giant breaths all the time.
Ahhhh, breathing. Yawning without issue. Love it!

So glad to hear about the bill of clean brains!! We will continue prayers for easy breathing and good positioning:)
“Bill of Clean Brains”
First off, hip-hip hurray for good news…
Secondly, that was hilarious! That is one bill I am still waiting by the mailbox for….
Ooh cloth diaper shopping on Black Friday is a GREAT idea. I got some excellent deals on maternity clothes, but I never thought to look for those. Will you post your reviews when you use/find the diapers? We have infant prefolds to reuse but are in the same boat with cover and need to get more. Plus, I had an appendectomy shortly after delivery and gave up cloth diapering between newborn and size medium
So, I will need to find some size small somethings. I was leaning towards fitteds as well and have gotten great reviews on Snugglebottoms. Keep me posted!
It was a lot of fun. Our diaper budget was pretty low, but we still got some good deals. Mom’s Milk Boutique and Abby’s Lane had good sales – Abby’s Lane still has good sales right now, but MMB really went all out on Black Friday. I’ve been stalking clearance at AL and MMB to see if anything good comes up that we would want to try – hence the BumGenius.
I use the Diaper Pin’s reviews (http://diaperpin.com/diapers/diaperpages.asp) as well as lurking around on various CD sites to see what’s going well and what isn’t. The thing is that a LOT of people love Thirsties but Greg and I can’t stand them falling apart so fast. I do diaper laundry every 2-3 days and wash/dry them per their instructions, but they still went to pot. We have some larger sized covers that we’ll probably sell – the smaller (hashed) ones Elise plays with. They’re like hats for her.
To Thirsties credit, they do work well – they kept pee in (until it fell apart) and we had no nighttime leakage issues. I was disappointed on the EBF poops (and even some of the table-food poops) because I can’t get the legs small enough for Elise. She may have gained 4 pounds since August, but she still has the tiniest legs ever.
I’m thinking about Blueberry covers, since they are one-sized and snap. I’m not worried about LO undoing aplix as a newborn, but definitely when that “ooh, what does this do?” phase hits.
I will totally post reviews when they get in use – the prefolds we bought (from MMB) are holding up amazingly so there’s no sense changing that. I want to try some AIOs on both kids, but who knows if that will happen. Our Kissaluvs just came in the mail today, and I’m melting from the cuteness. I just need a cute newborn butt to put in them!
