Ash Wednesday

Lent officially begins today, and I’ve already had a rough day. I think it’s one part due to pregnancy hormones and one part due to the Other Side not liking what all is going on. Greg, Elise, and I all made it to Mass for our ashes (Elise thought our ashes were OH SO FASCINATING, thank God she didn’t realize that she had ashes, as well!). A very good way to end the day, if I can say so.

I’m trying not to be weary of Lent already, or at least the unrelenting temptations and assorted battles that I have had to face today thus far. I know that I have an entire Heavenly army to help me along my way, not to mention the grace of God is far stronger than anything the Other Side can send my way, but I almost feel like I’m being kicked while I’m down.

Tomorrow is a new day, a new “NOW” to turn back to God and to cling to Him. As long as I keep focused on God, it will all work out in the end.

   Hi Kim! I love the new “Springy” look to your blog! Just looking at it this morning seemed to make me in a brighter mood! Hang in there during Lent…God is at work doing mighty things in your soul and it will all be worth it 40 days from now! Hope to see you soon!

   P.S. Clearing cookies, using different browsers, and even different computers in different locations still leave me with Scary Monocle Star. LOL, I guess it was just meant to be!

   @ Maria – thank you, I’m glad you like it. I wanted something to go along with the liturgical colors (does that make me an uber-geek) but not overtly depressing or intense. Today is much better than yesterday, thank God!

   @ Marigold – I’m hoping that the flowers will usher in an early spring here! XD So far the snow is melting but not very fast. I am BEYOND READY for spring, I’m so done with winter.

   @ Laura, thanks. It looks like I have armies all over the place. I’ll see if I can manually force Scary Monocle Star to something else. I can’t believe even changing computers didn’t change it!

   Laura, I actually read the fine print and you get Scary Monocole Star based on the email address you use – the image is “linked” persay via email addresses. I guess that explains why a different computer didn’t change the image! Now, let’s see if I can change something over here!

  Transitus Tiber is my horrible mistranslation of "crossing the Tiber". Obviously, I haven't had any classes in Latin.
