Today was Benedictus’ first well child visit*. He’s gained a pound in the last two weeks and grew half an inch. He’s also healthy as a horse and definitely DOES NOT LIKE Dr. S and his examining ways. Ben will most likely hate the nurses when we go back in May (vax appointment, yay). [...] I’ve discovered EWTN’s podcast repository. Needless to say, I am a happy camper. Some shows that I think are worth listening to: The Spiritual Legacy of Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen – I think that’s pretty self-explanatory, given my devotion to Archbishop Sheen. The Journey Home – I am a total conversion/reversion story junkie, and [...] 1. Greg and I decided that now that Ben’s breathing air, to invest in a Reliable Beater for Greg. Our Mom-Mobile (aka, minivan) is great for hauling kids, but not so great on the gas. Through some miracle, we found our (non gas guzzling) Reliable Beater … for $500. Considering we budgeted $1,000 for [...] Could you please keep Maria and her pregnancy in your prayers? Maybe I’m being a little Pollyanna over here, but I’ve pleasantly discovered that the transition from one to two has been a thousand percent better than I was expecting. Maybe it’s that “we’ve done this before” factor or the awesome labor and delivery; but I’m pretty surprised how well things are going over here. [...] We’re all doing good around these parts. Benedictus (or “Oobi”, as we like to call him) is still above 8 pounds. We’re total nerds in that we have a pediatric scale, which is proving handy because we aren’t due to meet with our pediatrician until the end of the month. Elise lost a bunch [...] It’s not Benedict’s most flattering picture, but he is very cute, cuddly, and snuggly. We’re home from the hospital already, and it feels so good to be back home. Thank you for all your well-wishes, I’m off to join the sleepers. After a seven hour labor, 15 minutes of pushing and 6 actual pushes; our beloved Benedictus has arrived! He was born at 2:44am, weighing in at 8 pounds, 5 ounces and 21 inches long (a pound heavier and 2 inches longer than Elise!). Labor and delivery was absolutely amazing and just … wow. [...] … I’m in labor! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! We’re already in the hospital (totally agree that dilation happens MUCH faster the second time around), and Little One should be here soon, God willing. All you holy angels and Saints of God, pray for us! :> : > :> And any prayers you readers can spare would [...] |
