We’re making it!

We’re all doing good around these parts. Benedictus (or “Oobi”, as we like to call him) is still above 8 pounds. We’re total nerds in that we have a pediatric scale, which is proving handy because we aren’t due to meet with our pediatrician until the end of the month. Elise lost a bunch of weight right at the get go, so it’s a pleasant surprise that Oobi hasn’t lost that much. He’s only down four ounces from birth. It helps that my milk already came in and we’re having a much easier time breastfeeding. We had the lactation consultant out today to help us refine his latch, and she was impressed with how much he likes to eat. His focus is unreal, at least until he falls asleep.

Oobi has totally skipped the whole “I wear newborn sized clothes” stage and depending on the manufacturer; wears anywhere from 0-3 month to 6 month clothing. Six month clothing. He can wear Elise’s diaper covers no problems (including the one-sizers!), which makes me glad we didn’t buy newborn sized diaper covers. Even if they are tiny and cute.

Thanks be to God, both kids are napping; which means it’s time for Mama to nap, as well. :-)
