note: I wrote this post in the days before Wok was born, and am finally getting to post it!
We have found the joys of a workbook. I’m kind of surprised but Elise is eating up her “school book”, to the point where I’m basically going to drop everything but music and religion and focus on the workbook for a while. That, and crafts. We do the old page protector + dry erase marker trick and she has endless amounts of fun.
This week, we’ve worked on: the letter B, the number 2, Creation, played a fun Creation themed game (matching what God made and what man made), read some of the Catholic Children’s Treasure Box books, and of course; page after page in her work book (tracing, lines, shapes, colors, that sort of thing). We are working on picking up after ourselves, as well.
She is making good progress on her Bob Books – she is thisclose to having reading “click”.
One thing that did surprise me is her interest in learning street names. I’m sure she’s making a mental map of PoDunkVille in her little mind. Bonus: she gets to learn directions.
I love watching her learn, her little mind soaking up everything and how excited and proud she is when something ‘clicks’.
