(We’re still not moved in to the new house yet … I think if we had about 5 extra men we could finish the house in 1-2 days, but since it’s just myself, Greg, and his Dad, it’s slow going). The results of my blood work are slowly trickling in. My thyroid is practically [...] At my doctor’s office, during the appointment in which we discussed D&C vs. natural miscarriage, what tests to run on me and when to run them. My doctor had emergency surgery and so was late, but the kids occupied themselves by watching the thunderstorm until he arrived. We went to a picnic that was [...] There was a post I had in Drafts, praying so hard it could see the light of the Internet. It could not. Not long after our miscarriage in May, we were cautiously excited to learn we were expecting again. Immediate bloodwork was done, progesterone was started. The betas were fabulous and I could stop [...] It appears we’re all done with hand-foot-mouth disease over here. Finally. Greg ended up missing two days of work, and had to forego working on our house the past weekend. He still has a good number of dots on his hands, but at least he has feeling back in them, and the pain is [...] Poor Benedict. In addition to getting a bunch of teeth in, he also has some spectacular polka dots on him. At first, I thought “chicken pox!” since we don’t do the chicken pox vaccination. I had images of taping mittens on hands, scratchy babies, but chicken pox nonetheless. Then, I actually Googled chicken pox [...] Hooray! It’s the feast of St. Benedict today! Being a Benedictine Oblate and having a Benedictine son, it’s a very happy day today! My personal preference is that we celebrate both St. Benedict’s days – the Death of St. Benedict in March and then his feast day -today – on the revised calendar. In [...] Summer is finally here, the snow has finally stopped, and temperatures are creeping into the upper 70′s. We are enjoying it, every last minute of: * swimming pools – I think if Elise could live in her kid’s pool, she would. Benedict hates it – the pool itself, not the water. He’s happy to [...] After writing this post, everything was great. Well, as great as they could be. Greg and I made the decision to not have a follow-up ultrasound, based on my physical recovery. If you know the details of our first loss, recovery physically was pretty much identical to that. And if you don’t, let me [...] Thank you all for your prayers. We are doing “okay” over here. Yesterday was a particularly hard day for me, because I think things became more real. Not as if I was living in denial but I think the realization that “oh, we lost the baby. We’re not pregnant.” made it through to every [...] I don’t like writing this post. In a sense, though; I am relieved to be writing this post. Unless something changes, we most likely lost the baby. I started doing more than just bleed late this afternoon. The irony is that my progesterone was low. I had the bottle of progesterone in my hand. [...] |
