Sick sweetie

Around midnight, Elise woke up crying and needing to use the potty. I took her to the bathroom and discovered that she was very, very warm. Her temperature read 100.6 degrees. She was not sleeping well, so we moved her into our bed and gave her some ibuprofen. Her temperature has been up all [...]

My (early) Blogoversary

Not long after my 24th birthday, I established this blog. I’ve been writing online my life for a while … since at least 1999. Most of the “old days” are defunkt or backed up to my hard drive. This particular blog wasn’t intended to be a standalone blog, but rather a blog for sorting [...]

Teething isn’t easy

Around midnight Benedict woke up pretty much on fire. A quick read of his temperature showed almost 101 degrees …. high for him. We cooled him off to the best of our ability and gave him some ipubrofen. We’re blaming the fever on the molars, since he does get low-grade fevers while teething. He [...]

Inspection prayers

Today our house has an inspection. If it passes, we can start drywalling this weekend. DRYWALLING!! I am trying to not erupt with giddy joy. Could you please pray it passes? The inspection is for insulation, and it should be very straightforward.

I’ll make an update when I know how the inspection went.

New Year’s Goals

A blessed 2011 to all!

Each year I try to make resolutions, goals, ideals; whatever – and they always seem to fall flat. This year, I’d like to take another crack at it. I’d like to change things, though. I have some goals in mind, but they all can be summed up as such:

[...]

In your charity,

Can you pray for the following intentions? The season has been a joyful time, but marked with sadness at times. But considering what the Infant Jesus was born to do, it fits perfectly in.

In addition to well, life; I blame these three items for keeping me offline.

A Priest Forever

Congratulations to the newly ordained Fr. K! Greg and I went with the kids to the Ordination Mass today – it was absolutely beautiful. Afterwards, I ran into Fr. L (who Confirmed me back in 2006) and several people from University Town that I hadn’t had contact with since we moved.

Elise spent a [...]

Thrift Store Finds

Another thrift store find – for $2.00! Apparently this used to be printed for priests and seminarians, but is also quite helpful for the laity. It was put out by the Midwest Theological Forum for the Pontifical North American College. There are so many amazing (and beautiful!) prayers in here, but I’m especially curious [...]

Why, hello there!

I’m slightly giddy by the fact that Benedict’s sleeping last night went like this:

8:45pm: Asleep Midnight: Asleep! 2am: STILL ASLEEP! 5am: Pre-breakfast snack, followed up with more sleep

And as of now (7am), he’s still sleeping.

Since Benedict’s sleep was so well, mine went like this:

10pm: Asleep. Midnight: Asleep! 2am: STILL ASLEEP! [...]
