Someone pinch me because reality hasn’t set in. Our house is finally – FINALLY FINISHED! Greg and I busted out the remaining drywall screws in 30 minutes last night. There is absolutely nothing left for us to do on the house except empty it of tools and make sure everything is in order for [...] (Yes I did have a post about our vacation posted, but I took it down to add a few things.) We’re still working on the house. We have half of the last bathroom left to drywall and an “off-street parking area” to create, and then we’re ready for the inspection. We’re really going to [...] We had a blast on our vacation. We went to Washington state! The last time I was there was on a highschool orchestra tour. It was nice to explore without a rigid schedule or chaperone. Our agenda was simple: relax. We did just that. We did take in some sights, checked out the local [...] It’s still a race between what will happen first: finishing our house or going on our vacation. We received some very encouraging news from a neighbor of ours who is a builder about just what we need to have completed to pass the last inspection. It’s a lot less than what we were expecting [...] Elizabeth asked how the house was going. Very, very well. We have completed all the trim work. All the doors have trim. The mopboards are up. Major Dad had me clear out all the tools from the upstairs. Basically, the living area of the house is move-in ready. The stuff that’s left: install the [...] I know, I’ve said that about the house for the last two weeks. We are making much progress. Yesterday we managed to get the kitchen and the master suite move-in ready. We’re busy working on installing trim throughout the rest of the house – and that’s it. The basement still needs drywall, but when [...] (We’re still not moved in to the new house yet … I think if we had about 5 extra men we could finish the house in 1-2 days, but since it’s just myself, Greg, and his Dad, it’s slow going). The results of my blood work are slowly trickling in. My thyroid is practically [...] I wanted to let you all know that the D&C went quite well yesterday. The nurses were all spectacular, very sympathetic and compassionate towards me and Greg. The anesthesiologist who put me under was the same doctor who gave me my epidural for Elise. I was happy that he was putting me under, because [...] It appears we’re all done with hand-foot-mouth disease over here. Finally. Greg ended up missing two days of work, and had to forego working on our house the past weekend. He still has a good number of dots on his hands, but at least he has feeling back in them, and the pain is [...] I don’t even remember how I came across Michele Quigley’s Family Centered planners, but I love them. I had one last year for lectio divina and NFP purposes, and bought another one for the upcoming year. I can agree and testify that these planners are totally amazing, or as Elisa says, the best day [...] |
