About

Pretty straightforward, this is my savings blog. I’m a fairly new couponer but have still saved a plethora of money by paying attention to the sales and using coupons. I’ve also started to delve into the art of once-a-month grocery shopping, since our food bill was pretty extreme. Using that method, we’ve been watching our bill drop to just $60/mo for a family of 3 (and one on the way). That’s about $15/week, and we eat three meals a day (and not junk food, either!).

I am a stay-at-home-mother to a toddler and have one on the way. We live on a single income well below the Federal Poverty Line, but still manage to make it all work utilizing coupons, being picky, and having good family ties – we live with family, which cuts out the cost of room and board. We’ve had to rethink how we view money, but know that in the long run; this is priceless.

We still are living on a single income, but we are finally above the Federal Poverty Line. However, our goal of frugality still remains. While it is awfully tempting to give us a “cost of living raise”, especially after the last year and a half; it’s not in our best interest to do so. Some things will get bumped up, such as groceries; but not extravagantly. :)
