I don't particularly know what kind of material I used for this skirt - it was in my basket of notions and was bought sometime in 2007. I'm thinking it's cotton - it's very soft and light, and wears very nicely.
Pinned and ready for sewing. Waistband at the bottom of the picture.
Now the bottom of the skirt is at the bottom of the picture.
All spread out. I think I may have made it a bit wide at the bottom.
Finished! The sheets are wrinkly, not the skirt. I added some lace trim on the bottom - I don't think I'll do that again for a while. That was probably the most annoying part of the whole skirt. Other than that, it came together nicely. I should have used slightly less elastic in the waistband, but I think it turned out pretty good for my first real sewing project!
